Common Alm

The Common Alm is a small, enclosed common of 0.5 hectares, located in an isolated ;position close to Itchington Road.  The site is a quiet haven for wildlife, surrounded by a mixture of trees, scrub and tall hedgerows.  Tall herbaceous plants such as great willowherb and meadow sweet dominate the central part of the site.  These species have tended to crowd out the grasses and more delicate plants.  The main management priority is to control scrub encroachment and restore an area of open grassland.
